All Leica M users have to overcome the challenge of manual foucs: there is simply no other way to work. New models have made focussing easier with EDF and focus peaking but in essence it’s still a manual process. One workaround is to ‘zone focus’ where you focus on a certain area (piece of pavement for example) and hope something/someone walks into it.
